What JOB and BUILD is the Best for You?

Still a novice and taking a hard time deciding what job should you take? I’ll help you with that. Anyway before you proceed below, MVP means Monster VS Player which is the word for Boss Hunting, PVP means player vs player, WOE means War of Emperium, Skill Versatility means how many skill combos can it do, Simplicity means how easy it is to use and how noob-friendly it is. I sorted them according to how simple they are to use so newbies could build the first ones first before going for the others.

Note: These images are all taken from Gamewalls.com… The Ratings below are only my opinion and they are only the general average rating of their diverse build types. If you have any violent reactions, comment it below and if I agree, I could change my own rating.

Assassins

Assassins currently earn the fastest with the least cost. Level 10 Steal could the double their amount of zeny earned in a spot. They don’t rely on their skills so much. Their damage skill as a Thief is not very important in leveling since they have a double attack passive which makes their DPS fast. Its WOE role is usually Grimtooth or Emperium Breaking. CRIT Type Assassins could fight VIT Knights especially if these VIT Knights have low dexterity.

Meta Builds

PVP

1. Venom Splasher – [KATAR or DD] Not a lot know Venom Splasher + SB combo. If you have played RAN and you know Starfall DOD, then you’ll easily understand the concept of this. Since, there’s no EDP, this will be the substitute. 70-100 Total STR, 50-60 Base DEX. Maximize Poison React and Venom Splasher and Sonic Blow. For pure VENOM DD, get weapon perfection buff for Maximum PVP DMG.

MVP

2. CRIT SIN – [JUR_3] Doesn’t No SP-Cost killer with the highest DPS in game (if the enemy doesn’t move and you are uninterrupted). The stats are debatable. But I’d suggest you to get 100 Total CRIT rate by reaching 50 Crit or reach 29 CRIT plus 3 Cruiser Cards. 70-90 STR is suggested. CRITS doesn’t miss.

WOE

3. EMP BREAKER -[DA or DD] I don’t really care whether you go DA or DD build. Both of them are fast, just go 99 BASE AGI, Ideally 100 TOTAL VIT. You all deal 1 damage anyway so… yeah. Anyway, DA has lower DPS than DD so DD Builds are faster in leveling up than DD. DD Builds COULD overpower CRIT builds DPS with Blacksmith Buffs. But if CRIT builds fight VS DD, DDs lose if they don’t use skills because they would miss sometimes. They could also switch to katar and use status effects katar with cursed arrow to slow down enemies with grimtooth.

Hunters

Hunters, from their name itself are the best equipment hunters in the world of Midgard. But you have to invest arrows and mana potions especially if you are a Double Strafe Type Hunter. Blitz Beat build cost the least, but looks fun and would cost as less as an Assassin. Hunter Trappers are built for WOE and deal a lot of damage if they do claymore type. Although, it looks perfect to you in the first look, mastering a hunter is not easy to do because of its low HP.

Meta Builds

WOE and PVP

1. Trapper – Max DEX, At least 60 INT; Maximize Claymore Skill, Ankle Snare; At least level 6 Arrow Shower; That’s all you need. You’d find it funny that your equipment is not a necessity for this build. You could go leveling without equips to be honest. Due to that fact, some people just add 4 Hunter Fly Cards to their bows so they no longer have to use potions. For SP regeneration just sit down because you have 60 int. Status effects composite bows and arrows are also great for slowing down enemies in WOE.

MVP

2. Blitzer- Max AGI, 30-60 Total LUK, 18 INT; At least 60 DEX; Maximize Falconry Research and Blitz Beat. Equip Snake Head Hat and Sharp Arrow for maximum damage. Just click the enemy and wait for it to die by itself.

Knights

Overpowered in this patch. Knights basically have the highest HP in game currently,  since crusaders don’t exist yet. They are the front-line members of the WOE team specializing in Spears and 2 Handed Swords.  Agi Knights level faster than VIT Knights, but VIT knights are more efficient in MVP. The rating below is SO FAR from the HUNTER, but with some boss fights, you couldn’t fight them without a Knight. Hunters don’t love Killing Knights since they take so much time to kill. Also, VIT Knights could just sit down in a PVP room and people won’t try touching them to avoid wasting potions. I just rated them this way because they don’t kill as much as Hunter can. In average, I could rate them this way:

Leveling Speed: 7/10 —  Farming: 9/10 — Simplicity: 9/10;

Meta Builds

WOE

1. Brandish Spear – Brandish spear is one of the biggest AOE skill in game that is affected by weapons. Equip a SHIELD and PIKE[4] with Status effect cards like savage babe, metaller, magnolia card and go front-line of the war and watch tons of enemies slow down. Most people recommend SVD (MAX STR & VIT, others DEX) for this build. I still put AGI and at least 50 dex.

WOE, PVP & MVP

2. BB Breaker – Overpowered build in this patch. High AGI and VIT, (Around 63 STR, 53 AGI, 80 VIT, 70 DEX to Hit Hunters and Assassins). Trust me, you need that HIGH DEX. Uses Claymore to use TWO-HANDED Quicken. Here’s a great guide from Tsu Shi on how to use BB.

Priests

Priests are usually the support of this game. Though some try to be a Battle Priests which is not reliant to a party and could level up by themselves. These rebellious Priests don’t deal surprising 3 hit kill damage but it could still kill you if you become overconfident. Leveling as an acolyte is not easy, but a Turn Undead Priests definitely could leech a party.

WOE & MVP

1. BattlePriests – One of the most underrated characters in game since they did not make a sound on Pre-renewal. They are the Jack-of-all-trades in WOE. Breaking? Good news, they hit fast with 70+ Agi and level 10 Increase AGI. Semi-tanking? 70+ Vit with LVL 10 ANGELUS, dammit! PLUS! debuffs such as lex aeterna , lex divina, decrease agi. Support? They go pneuma, status recovery, etc… They can level up by themselves and are super complementary to blacksmiths.

MVP (Leeching)

2. TURN UNDEAD- One of the fastest leechers in game aside from Knights. What makes them better than Knights is their capability to level up without using potions. Also, if you didn’t know, they kill ANUBIS, which is ONE OF THE HIGHEST XP GIVERS in game. Just EQUIP a bathory card, thara frog guard, RTR or Poopoo hat, Around 70 INT, 25 VIT, 70 DEX, 30 LUK and that’s it.

ALL

3. FULL SUPPORT- If you are the supportive kind of person and just wanna talk while leveling up, then this one’s for you. All you have to do is find a partner leveling up. Seriously, its name speaks for itself.

Blacksmiths

Blacksmiths are one of the most underrated characters in-game. Well, some people think… “They are just merchants”, but DAMN no! Check their Damage/Speed/Health ratio. They are well-balanced. You just need to be rich, at least have 2m zeny on PVP or WOE and you could kill anyone. Hammer fall definitely is one of the most annoying skill in-game if you know how to use it. For some people who use Blacksmith, they think that hammer fall is kinda boring because it has no damage, but if you are a Hunter and you got hit with a hammer fall, you’d surely hate them. Farming is supposedly 7/10 IF AND ONLY IF, GREED IS AVAILABLE. Seriously, you could just go to Glast Heim and greed unwanted loots and earn 100k/hr looting.

Tanksmith – I invented the word, but well. This Blacksmith wears Guard[1] and Orcish Axe[4] and uses Hammerfall on woe and goes front-line. Around 80 VIT, 50 STR, 40 DEX, the rest AGI, is strong enough to defend. Remember that in this game, wearing shields reduce 30% ASPD so they are no longer strong enough in PVP like in pre-renewal. Tanksmiths have no match against Butcher builds unless Tanksmiths use combat knife with gentleman’s pipe and blush of groom.

WOE and PVP

Butcher – Spanks you with two-handed axe. You can either check the guide on Kamonway’s site or wait for my own guide. They are most effective in PVP and 1 v 1 fights. This is when you feel the power of STR again. Str 80, Agi 80, Vit 50, Dex 38 according to Kamonway. But… that’s his’ opinion.

Money $$$$

Forger – Forgers have the highest income in-game. They earn the most but that’s because they are very hard to level up too. They really need leechers to level up. 99 DEX and 99 LUK for pure forger build.

Wizards

Wizards are the least simple to use among all of them. If you are lag, you’re gonna have a BAD time since they die easy. No Speed because… why would you attack? They are currently rated 7/10 on PVP since you could spawn in the PVP map, lag for 10 seconds, and surprise yourself that your character is already dead upon spawn. They could definitely 1-2 hit kill enemies though. There are soooooo many skill combos: Storm gust and Jupitel Thunder; Frost Driver and Lightning Bolt;  Safety Wall, Frost Nova, and Lightning Storm; etc… All in One Ring is the best rental item for them.

Too Many to mention – Storm Gust is the most common build for Wizards. Complemented with Jupitel Thunder. Sadly they are the most nerfed among all classes since they used to rely so much on DEX. But now, you could no longer do “no-cast” builds. 90 INT, 70 DEX, 76 VIT, 4 STR is my suggested build for all kinds of wizards.

I will give a more DETAILED article for these builds as soon as we find the formula for ASPD. To help us get the data for ASPD, you can help us here in this facebook link.
